4. Trophies

4.1 -  The League shall be responsible for the insurance and engraving of all trophies.

4.2 - League Competition

i) Club Awards

The following trophies shall be awarded at the end of each season

 

Champions of Division 1

The Naylor-Jennings Trophy & Howard Stott Pennant

Runners up of Division 1

The Jack Sullivan Cup

Champions of Division 2

The Elsworth Cup

Champions of Division 3

The J K Harrison Trophy

Champions of Reserve Division 1

The Airedale &Wharfedale Cup

Runners up of Reserve Division 1

The George Reah Trophy

Champions of Reserve Division 2

The J C Stone Trophy

Champions of Reserve Division 3

The David L Steel Trophy

Champions of 3rd Team Competition

The Denys Bull Trophy

Club Champions

The Burmah Oil Trophy

Fair Play

The Fair Play Trophy


Each of the above trophies shall be returned to the Hon. Secretary by 31st August each year in a clean condition.

Twelve mementos shall be awarded to each team winning a League Championship.
 

ii) Individual Awards

The following shall be awarded annually to players:

N & J Threapleton Trophy

Best batting average in 3rd XI competition

Lawrence Walker All Rounder Trophy

Best 1st XI All Rounder awarded by special panel

Mike Hibbert All Rounder Trophy

Best 2nd XI All Rounder awarded by special panel

Best bowling average in 1st XI, Division 1

Most fielding merit points in 2nd XI

William Gill Trophy

Scorer of the Year, awarded by special panel

The Eddie Nelson Trophy

Player of the Season -  Joe Lumb Competition

The David Greenwood Memorial Trophy

Player of the Season –Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival Under 15’s

The Secretary’s Trophy

Player of the Season –Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival Under 13’s

The J P Scally Trophy

Player of the Season –Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival Under 11’s

* No overseas player shall be eligible to win either of the Eric Schofield Trophies for under 20 years batting or bowling.


Each of the above trophies shall be returned to the Hon. Secretary by 31st August each year in a clean condition.

Each of the above recipients will also be provided a suitable prize.


4.3 Cup Competition

i) Club Awards
 

The following trophies shall be awarded at the conclusion of each Cup Final

The Ernest Waddilove Cup

Winners of the 1st XI Cup Competition

The Anthony Britwhistle Cup

Winners of the 2nd XI Cup Competition

The Ian Chappell Cup

Winners of the 3rd XI Cup Competition


The above trophies shall be returned to the Hon. Secretary not later than the Saturday prior to the Semi-final ties in the following year in a clean condition.
12 mementos will be awarded to both finalist in each competition, plus scorer for each finalist.


ii) Individual Awards
The following trophies shall be awarded annually to players:

The Ernest Walker Trophy

Man of the Match performance in the Waddilove Cup Final

The Robert Bland Ltd Trophy

Man of the Match performance in the Birtwhistle Cup Final

The Dennis Kirkbright Trophy

Man of the Match performance in the Ian Chappell Cup Final


The above trophies shall be returned to the League Secretary not later than the Saturday prior to the Semi-final ties in the following year in a clean condition.

The winners of these awards shall be decided by an Adjudicator appointed by the Management Committee.
Each of the above recipients will also be provided a suitable prize.

 

4.4 Other awards

The following trophies may be presented at the League Dinner

The Eddie Nelson Memorial Shield

Under 13’s 6-a-side tournament winners

The Peter Rowney Memorial

Under 9’s 6-a-side kwik cricket tournament winners

Each of the above trophies shall be returned to the Hon. Secretary at least two weeks prior to the competition in the following year in a clean condition.

  • 4.5 - Qualifications         

  • Prizes and Trophies shall only be awarded to players who fulfil the following criteria:                  

  • FIRST TEAMS:

    BATTING : A minimum of 12 innings and 400 runs.                      

    BOWLING: A minimum of 30 wickets and bowled in a minimum of 12 league matches.                         

    WICKET-KEEPING: Have kept wicket in a minimum of 12 matches, and claimed at least 20 victims.

     

  • RESERVE TEAMS:                                     

    BATTING : A minimum of 10 innings and 300 runs.            

    BOWLING: A minimum of 25 wickets and bowled in a minimum of 10 league matches.

    WICKET-KEEPING: Have have kept wicket in a minimum of 10 matches, and claimed at least 15 victims.

     

    THIRD TEAMS:

    BATTING : A minimum of 7 innings and 200 runs.   

    BOWLING: A minimum of 16 wickets.                              

    WICKET-KEEPING: Must have kept wicket in 7 matches, and claimed at least 10 victims.

    To qualify for the Eric Schofield batting/bowling prizes a player must be under 20 years of age on 1st September of the previous season.

  • If there are no players fulfilling the qualifications for any prize, the award shall be made at the discretion of the Management Committee.
